A youth centre where I worked for 7 years has just been closed down
what a shame
how sad
all those young street kids with no where to go
all that work, energy, stress, ideas and vision
hanging over cliff's edge
to topple into the garbage?
or rise like a phoenix out of the ashes

don't know
but it's
definitely
way past time for me to let go
just watch what happens
see whether new players show
and those old ideas
get a chance to really grow

it's Friday
and I'm still in holiday mode
struggling to get a working mindset
but just want to plonk on the couch
and watch the tennis

it's hot and dry
and the air conditioner is humming
while I
sit here tapping away
having a play

feels good to not be stressed
flat out stretched
to meet workplace goals
just rest
its what I need

thank God
I'm here
feels like I've climbed a mountain
and survived
a hive of bees
chasing me for years and years

sigh, breath, lie down flat
with controller in hand
its just this or that
decision to watch
drink a scotch

ahhhhh

...the lines
through the cracks
unearthly silence
total blank?
illusions, rumours
out of whack
with time and space
humans trapped in
handmedown view
misconstrue
its truth?
daily thoughts
caught
in nets of commonplace
accepted ways rule
the mind
unattaining the more sublime?
no room for
unknown view
between the cracks
of conciousness
missing
chance to
become
new

for fun
unwrap life's presents
pick old knots undone
lift up your face
smile at the sun
blue skys
an end to cries

for a time
it's time
for fun
